Kansas basketball: Hunter Dickinson makes fashionable appearance at Kentucky Derby
Kansas basketball’s latest signee, Hunter Dickinson, showed up in style to the Kentucky Derby with fellow college basketball stars.
Plenty of news has circulated around the Kansas Jayhawks as of late, particularly due to Hunter Dickinson committing to the school. The transfer from Michigan was the top player in the portal and immediately makes KU a championship contender next year.
One thing about Dickinson is that he is not shy. Whether it be trash-talking on the court or stirring up rumors on his podcast, he is a fan of the antics. Now we know he also has a propensity for styling off the court.
The new Kansas signee showed up with Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe and North Carolina’s Armando Bacot and RJ Davis to the Kentucky Derby. It is the most popular horse racing event in the world, as the top thoroughbreds go out and compete each year at Churchill Downs. The horse Mage won it all this year.
Here is a picture of Dickinson and his buddies at the event.
Dickinson sports an elegant semi-beige suit with what seems to be a media pass lanyard around his neck. Tshiebwe dons a simpler blue jacket and white shirt combination, and the UNC duo paid homage to former Kansas coach Roy Williams with a checkered baby blue blazer.
Now we know that Dickinson is capable of putting on a show both on and off the hardwood.

While the duo of Dickinson and Tshiebwe might seem awkward to some — UK was one of the leading schools for Dickinson and nearly replaced Tshiebwe with him — they seem entirely comfortable in the photo.
Bacot and Dickinson also attended the event together last year. Perhaps it will become a tradition amongst blue-blood players to attend the Kentucky Derby. It is the first public appearance Dickinson has made since committing to KU, and he was dressed to impress.
