Kansas basketball: Best KU players each season since 2000
By Kyle Jones
2014 – Perry Ellis
This was essentially the same team as 2015, plus a couple of freshmen who were underwhelming one-and-done players. There were only two seniors on this team that weren’t on the 2015 team, and they were both complete non-factors. Obviously, Ellis had a better 2015 than 2014, but this was still a very good year for him. The future All-American put up 14 points and seven rebounds per game and built a solid foundation for his leadership capabilities. Unfortunately, this team is most known for its loss to Wichita State in the “Best Team in Kansas” second-round game of the NCAA Tournament.
