What to watch for during 2021 Kansas football fall camp

Defensive strides

Handling Big 12 defenses has been a weak spot for Kansas over the years, and it reached a pretty low point last season. In 2020, the Jayhawks allowed an atrocious average of 46 points per game.

The upcoming season marks an opportunity for change behind former Buffalo defensive coordinator Brian Borland, however, Kansas has already seen some challenges this offseason.

Breakout corner Karon Prunty and defensive lineman Marcus Harris were two young defenders that parted ways with the Jayhawks’ program this offseason. Their absence will be felt and Kansas will need to find ways to fill in the gaps.

Some younger names may show some flashes this season, including freshman corner Jacobee Bryant. Bryant picked off sophomore quarterback Jalon Daniels and ran it back for six during this year’s spring game.

This season may end up giving fans a few surprises, even if they come a little later into the schedule.
