Three keys for Kansas basketball in their conference season finale against Baylor

Defending Jared Butler

Despite missing a considerable amount of time due to pandemic concerns, Baylor has been one of the most talented scoring teams in both the conference and the nation.

Leading the Bears has been junior guard Jared Butler, who averages just over 17 points per game, which has made him one of the more effective parts of the Bears’ offense.

When Jared gets hot, he doesn’t stop. Kansas will need to stop him from finding opportunities behind the arc. He had an impressive return with the Bears in his 18 point performance as Baylor edged past Iowa State in a close scoring matchup.

Stopping Butler will prove difficult, but it will go a long way if Kansas can find ways to shut him down. This is where Kansas’ defense will need to sharpen up.

Pairing up Butler with either Garrett or Wilson will create an interesting dynamic. Regardless, cutting down the number of shots he takes will be a must.
