Four-star combo guard and class of 2022 member Noah Shelby has recently received an offer from Bill Self and Kansas basketball.

Kansas basketball’s 2022 recruiting class is empty right now, but that’s nothing to worry about. The class of ’21 is the priority, but that doesn’t mean Bill Self and his staff aren’t already out working on the class of ’22. As a matter of fact, they sent an offer to Noah Shelby yesterday.

Shelby is rated as a four-star recruit and No. 67 overall in his class according to 247Sports. He’s got some prestigious offers too, from schools including Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Auburn, Arizona State, Memphis, Georgetown, and others. It’s notable that he’s also received some interest from Texas Tech and Duke.

As a Texas native, it may be tough to recruit him away from schools like Texas, Baylor, and Texas A&M. Still, the Jayhawks have had a lot more long-term success than all of those programs. Shelby is also bound to receive more offers in the future, so it’s a good deal that the Jayhawks got to him before the other blue blood programs.

Here is Shelby’s tweet from yesterday announcing his offer from the Kansas Jayhawks:

It goes without saying that Shelby would be a great start to KU basketball’s 2022 recruiting class, but we probably won’t see a commitment date at least until next year considering he’s still got two more seasons of high school basketball.

light. MORE HOOPS. Ranking the top 10 Jayhawks of all time

Without saying much, this 2022 class is going to be an important one for head coach Bill Self and Kansas basketball, especially if they can’t get a big name in this 2021 class. Noah Shelby could be a solid piece of that 2022 class though, and he could end up getting some immediate playing time with the Jayhawks.
