Kansas football will go undefeated in their non-conference games

Based on ESPN’s FPI, this only has about a nine percent chance of happening; however, it really isn’t that unlikely. Here are are the Jayhawks’ three non-conference games this season and where they will be located;

  • September 5 vs. New Hampshire
  • September 12 at Baylor (Big 12 game)
  • September 19 vs. Boston College
  • September 26 at Coastal Carolina

Interestingly, Kansas will play one Big 12 game at Baylor in the middle of their non-con schedule.

MORE: Breaking down the non-conference schedule

It’s been years since Kansas went undefeated in their non-conference schedule, but maybe 2020 is when that changes. There should be no way Kansas loses the season opener at home against a team like New Hampshire from the FCS, so we can hopefully, probably, maybe assume that the Jayhawks will start 1-0.

After that, the next non-con game against Boston College is an excellent opportunity for the Jayhawks to pick up a solid win. The Eagles are projected to finish towards the bottom of the ACC, so they’re certainly a beatable opponent for Kansas at home.

Finally, the road game against Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers embarrassed the Jayhawks last season by beating Kansas at home 12-7. It was a really depressing loss, but the Jayhawks have a shot to avenge it next season.
