Kansas basketball alum Devonte’ Graham was chosen to participate in the NBA’s three-point shootout during all-star weekend.

From a late second-round selection to a starting point guard, Kansas basketball alum Devonte’ Graham has been on a roll this season. He currently averages 17.9 points and 7.6 assists per game in his second season with the Charlotte Hornets.

Graham was arguably a contender to make the all-star game from the East; however, he was left off of the roster. All isn’t lost though, as he’ll play in the Rising Stars Game with fellow former Jayhawk Svi Mykhailiuk.

Earlier today, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Graham would be participating in the NBA three-point shootout as well:

This is great news for Graham. It gives him even more publicity, and a chance to further showcase his skill. So far this season, Graham has knocked down 38 percent of his shots from behind the arc, proving he deserves to be in the contest.

For those that are unfamiliar with the format of the three-point contest, here are the basics:

  • Eight players
  • One minute per player
  • Five racks with six balls per rack
  • The final ball in each rack is the Moneyball, and it counts for a bonus point
  • The top three in the first round advance to the finals, the winner of the finals wins the contest.

Here’s the full roster for the 2020 NBA three-point contest:
