Former Kansas Jayhawks Svi Mykhailiuk and Devonte’ Graham have been chosen for the NBA Rising Stars All-Star Weekend event!

Though he didn’t make the All-Star game, Devonte’ Graham will make an appearance in the Rising Stars Game along with his former teammate: Svi Mykhailiuk. The former Jayhawks have been tearing it up in the NBA this season, and it’s good they’re being recognized for it.

For those that are unfamiliar with the Rising Stars event, it’s almost like a “junior all-star game.” The rosters are made up of all first and second-year NBA players that have the potential to become all-stars in the future.

The roster is divided into Team World and Team USA. As you probably guessed, Team World is made up of international talent, while Team USA is made up of those from the United States. Jayhawks fans will be split though on who to root for though.

Svi Mykhailiuk will play on Team World given his Ukrainian ethnicity, while Devonte’ Graham will play for Team USA. Here are the full rosters:

Both Graham and Mykhailiuk have had great second seasons.

Graham was a borderline all-star, averaging 18.2 points and 7.6 assists per game with the Charlotte Hornets. He’s notched multiple double-doubles this season, becoming one of the top point guards in the NBA at just 24 years old.

Mykhailiuk has become a starter for the Detroit Pistons, averaging 8.7 points per game so far this season. He’s shooting 42.4 percent from behind the arc, proving he’s got range. If Mykhailiuk can continue developing, he’ll continue to gain more minutes and become a bigger part of the Pistons’ offense.

The future is bright for these Jayhawks that were both picked in the second round of the same draft. Now, they’ll get a chance to showcase their talent against some of the best young talents in the NBA.
