108 Combinations: What should Kansas football wear?
By Stan Unruh
Kansas football fans and players are counting down the days to the season opener. It’s time to start considering uniform combinations.
The Kansas football season opener is just over a month away. Head coach David Beaty and his staff have a lot of work to do and questions to answer. Who will play quarterback? Will the rest of the team have what it takes to follow preseason Big 12 Defensive Player-of-the Year Dorance Armstrong? One of the most important decisions you may not have considered: What is the team going to wear?
Some Kansas football fans love the 108 variety of uniform combinations available to the team. Some Kansas football fans don’t care and wish they’d wear one set of uniforms at home and one on the road.
The team is using social media to ask for some suggestions on what the team should wear. With triple-digit combinations, they might need help. Does David Beaty take time to decide what the team wears? Does he have time to do that?
I’m not sure I’m qualified to suggest what the team should wear. I prefer a simple Brooks Brothers navy blazer, grey slacks and a striped tie. If you win in one uniform, keep wearing it. On the other hand, today’s student athletes place uniform color combinations and school shoe contracts high on their list before selecting a university.

Kansas fans are fortunate to have Crimson and Blue and the variety of Jayhawks to decorate uniforms. When you watch a lot of college games and some in the NFL you see a lot of color and mascot combinations that are very ugly. Just imagine trying to dress your team and your family in purple.
