Big Week for Kansas Jayhawks named Mason

Last week was big for Kansas Jayhawks named Mason. Frank Mason earned a spot in the NBA and former Jayhawk Mason Finley won another discus title.
With summer officially underway, Kansas Jayhawks enjoyed another amazing week. As a matter of fact, Jayhawks named Mason really had an outstanding week.
Many fans watched as the Sacramento Kings drafted Kansas basketball hero and National Player of the Year Frank Mason on Thursday night.
Also in Sacramento, another Kansas Jayhawk named Mason – Mason Finley did big things on Saturday at United States Track and Field championships.
The 6-foot-8-inch, 350 pound Finley successfully defended his American Discus title with a throw just over 206-feet.
Finley, 26, is a Colorado native and accomplished athlete. He was a four-time NCAA runner-up in the shot put and discus throw and four-time Big 12 champion.
Finley, 26, finished 11th at the Olympic games in Rio. After the Olympics, he told the Denver Post
"“I definitely need more meets like this. I need to get over to Europe to compete more with this caliber of athletes so I’m more comfortable on a stage like this.”"

With the win Saturday, Finley earned a trip to London’s World Championships. This is exactly what he said he needed. A little more time to compete against the European athletes. Jayhawk fans will watch and wish him the very best.
