Another day and another round of mock drafts. The imagined fate of two former Kansas basketball players changes almost hourly.

Fans love to read the mock draft reports. That is why there are so many of them. The recruiting process is one thing. Players have some control in the recruiting process. You get to visit the schools you want, answer the calls and text message you determine are most important and ignore the rest.

The professional draft process is very different. It’s dizzying and if you are Josh Jackson or Frank Mason it must be overwhelming.

Who do you trust?  What should you read?  Maybe you should completely avoid reading any of the mock drafts?  That’s no fun. As a matter of fact, it would be great fun.  However, it’s all pretend and just someone’s opinion. Some of the writers are well connected. Most are just guessing based on what they think they know or what they read somewhere else.

I have no idea how professional sports teams evaluate talent.  Some of the selections are amazingly stupid.

The good news this week continues to be that two Kansas Basketball players are in the running for selection on draft night.   In addition, Frank Mason is moving up on some mock draft boards.

The latest SEC Country board list Jackson at 4 and Mason at 47.  By the time, you read this it may change.  No it will change.

I think the Lakers at #2 should take Jackson.

When you read the names of players listed ahead of Mason, it’s almost comical. Kansas basketball fans know what he brings to every game.

He would be a good fit on several teams. I believe he will get a great opportunity to prove himself on the big stage.
