Most University of Kansas fans know Lawrence is a fabulous college town. Now another national publication is recognizing it among a new Top 50 list.
Last weekend, I was in Lawrence for graduation at the University of Kansas. Yes, we talked about the new players recruited by Bill Self to the Kansas basketball team.
We discussed Frank Mason’s NBA future and whether Svi would return for next season.
Someone mentioned Big 12 football and the negative attention from lack of talent taken in the NFL draft.
In the first place, we all admitted it was getting old hearing negative from the National Media about the Big 12 Conference.
The Big 12 deserves some love and GoodDeedSeats.com came through with a new study that provided just that.
The web site’s list of Top-50 top small college towns includes a pair of Big 12 communities. It also included a couple of towns that really surprised me.
They listed Columbia, Missouri; Lexington, Kentucky. With all that negative news at Mizzou, I’m very surprised they made the cut.
Former Big 12 communities Lincoln, Nebraska and Boulder, Colorado are also mentioned.
Lawrence and the University of Kansas were an easy choice.
"The city has been applauded by Rolling Stone magazine, Esquire, and the New York Times. Live music can be enjoyed at several hot spots in-and-around Lawrence like the Jackpot Saloon, The Bottleneck, The Granada, and The Replay Lounge."
