Throughout this Summer, Kansas fans have been given an interesting opportunity to see two of their former favorite players captivate audiences during the 2025 NBA Summer League.
This evening, things will come to a clash as Indiana Pacer Johnny Furphy (2023-24) will be taking on New York Knick Kevin McCullar Jr. (2023-24) in a Summer League spectacle.
Johnny Furphy: A highlight reel summer
Furphy is en route to becoming a bigger name for Indiana fans to grasp onto. Furphy has debatably delivered the most consistent performances for the NBA runnerups, as Furphy has totaled a smooth 12 points per game with the ability for the fantastic, as he showed in a 114-105 loss to the Chicago Bulls Monday night.

Furphy has added 2.3 assists per game all while marking an efficent 57.4% from the field.
Last season, the Australian averaged 2.1 points per game on nearly eight minutes a night over the course of 50 regular-season games.
Expect him to grow in minutes as next season wears on, and don't be surprised to see him with another highlight dunk tonight.
Kevin McCullar Jr.: An uptick for a promising young player
McCullar has risen up the ranks for a lot of NBA fans this Summer, thanks to his sharpshooting on display.
McCullar started his Summer circuit off with 13 points in a 104-86 loss to the Pistons in the first game. That day, McCullar marked a 35.7% shooting average, to go with six rebounds and three assists.
While game one was good, game two was fantastic. McCullar totaled 30 points on 10-15 shooting to go with four rebounds, one assist and two steals in a 94-81 loss to the Boston Celtics. While the former Red Raider did mark six turnovers, his superb shooting helped erase some of those errors.
McCullar, unfortunately, did not play when the Knicks took on the Brooklyn Nets, as the Knicks fell 97-93 on Tuesday night due to a nasal contusion, but there is hope he will play tonight.
Final thoughts
At the end of the day, neither will be heartbroken with a loss, but this Summer League has helped put to of Bill Self's biggest stars against one another in what could be a Jayhawk dominated night, hoping that McCullar can play with full health. If not, then don't turn off your TV as Furphy is bound to make jaws drop at some point during the night.
