The Kansas Jayhawks continue to dominate the in-state recruiting trail as they added yet another top-ranked 2026 prospect from the Sunflower State.
On Wednesday, 6-foot-3 wide receiver Tyren Parker from nearby Topeka, Kansas, committed to KU over finalists Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Parker, who plays for Shawnee Heights High School, also held an offer from Kansas State.
As a junior this past year for the Thunderbirds, Parker reeled in 50 catches and nearly 1,200 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns.
Parker is currently ranked as the No. 8 recruit in Kansas (per Rivals), and with his commitment that now means KU has verbal pledges from six of the top 10 ranked high school players in Kansas.
It’s an incredible feat what this Kansas coaching staff has done with local recruiting.
To make those connections with all the different high school coaching staffs, the players, and their families – and to secure this many commitments from the best players in the state this early in the 2026 recruiting cycle – shows just how dedicated the KU coaches have been to keeping the best players in state and donning the crimson and blue.
It also reflects the strength of KU’s NIL offerings and how the program is no longer an afterthought for top in-state talent.
This is easily the best in-state class the Kansas program has ever had, and they are still very much in play to land the three remaining uncommitted top 10 recruits in Kansas as well.
It’s wild – but true – to say that the Jayhawks have a top five recruiting class in the country right now, and it may only get better in the months ahead.
