Minutes ago, thanks to Rivals/On3’s Joe Tipton, Class of 2026 Tyran Stokes had announced his final three schools, which included Kansas, Oregon, and Kentucky.
As it stands, Stokes is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2026 according to 247Sports. Stokes currently attends Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks, California. 247Sports suggests that Stokes is set to attend Kentucky with a 6/10 confidence, meaning things are still slightly in the air.
Here is an excerpt from 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein on Stokes.
“At 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds with a 7-foot wingspan, he’s powerful, long, and explosively athletic. But while he’s built like a forward, he can make plays like a guard with an ability to create off the dribble and an innate understanding of how to instinctively find a path to the rim, even when one doesn’t seem to initially present itself. He’s especially lethal getting downhill in the open floor and loves to take the ball off the defensive glass (10 rebounds per game in EYBL) and start the break himself.”
Notre Dame has produced some elite talent out of the high school ranks. Since 2019, the high school has seen three-stars Julian Rishwain and Lino Mark. And four-stars Dusty Stromer, Mercy Miller, and Caleb Foster, meaning Stokes is the highest rated player to come out of the California school.
On3 touts Notre Dame as the nation’s 24th-best school and the fifth in the state of California.
There are a lot of moving parts to this story, so stick with us here on Through the Phog as Stokes’ commitment could be pivotal in what already is a stacked class of players.
The Jayhawks have already enlisted the likes of Taylen Kinney, the nation’s No. 13 player, Davion Adkins, the No. 34 player, Trent Perry, who is ranked as 120th, and Luke Barnett, who is No. 144.
