One of the most rocking environments in all of college basketball is set to play host to ESPN’s “College Gameday” ahead of when the Kansas Jayhawks host the No. 13 BYU Cougars next week. The Cougars are spearheaded by freshman phenom AJ Dybantsa.

A place ESPN is all too familiar with
Next Saturday will be the 13th time Allen Fieldhouse has hosted the ESPN show, and the 24th overall time the Jayhawks have been featured on it. Kansas sits just behind UNC (29) and Duke (30) in terms of appearances.
How have the Jayhawks fared under the lights?
Kansas holds a 10-2 record at Allen Fieldhouse, which includes a two-game winning streak against Baylor over the last two seasons.
Overall, when featured, Kansas holds a 15-8 record. The last home loss for Kansas at the show was during the 2021-22 season when the Kentucky Wildcats took down Kansas by an 80-62, 18-point margin, the same season when Kansas won the NCAA National Championship, their second under head coach Bill Self.
Kansas must not look ahead of schedule
The Jayhawks are set to tipoff in Manhattan, Kansas, in a few hours in what will be a highly anticipated clash against the Kansas State Wildcats. The Wildcats hold a 10-9 record, including a 1-5 mark in conference play. The Jayhawks have not won a game in Manhattan since the 2021-22 season, making it three straight losses when traveling to face their in-state rivals. Kansas State is led by 6-foot-4 junior guard P.J. Haggerty. Haggerty currently ranks as the nation’s third-best scorer, as he averages an astounding 23.4 points per game, and has seen as many as 37 points when the Wildcats took down Mississippi State en route to their 5-0 start before dropping nine of their next 14 games.
