The Kansas Jayhawks, like many other schools, are in the midst of scrambling through transfer visits in an attempt to rebuild a roster broken by the portal.

So far, the Jayhawks have landed Utah transfer Keanu Dawes, along with exciting Toledo guard Leroy Blyden Jr.

While both Dawes and Blyden will be big additions to the next year’s roster, the question mark over the future of Paul Mbiya leaves the center position with huge gaps ahead of next season.

As of writing, if Mbiya does opt for the portal, then the only listed center on the team for next season is freshman center Davion Adkins, who stands at 6-foot-9.

While Adkins is currently touted as the nation’s 70th-overall prospect, it is likely too much for a freshman to handle such responsibility in a conference like the Big 12, and the scrutiny that comes with playing for the legendary brand, meaning the Jayhawks will likely have to dip into the portal.

This is where the Jayhawks need to take a strong look at the transfer portal.

College of Charleston big man recently took a visit to the Jayhawks

According to 247Sports, Reeves, a 7-foot-2 transfer, is currently rated as the nation’s 169th-best transfer and the 24th-best center in this year's portal class.

The former Duke and Clemson transfer averaged 11.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game last season, all on a strong 65.4% field goal rate.

Last season, the Cougars went 21-11 and missed out on postseason basketball.

According to John Hollinger’s Game Score metric, Reeves averaged a 10.9. According to Hollinger, an average is a 10, with an outstanding performance labeled as a 40.

Reeves will likely not be the starting center at KU, due to his lack of experience at the top level, but off the bench, having someone the quality of Reeves could be a boon to a center room with more questions than answers.
