The East Region in the NCAA Tournament this season is no joke, and it is one that some teams are thankful they are not a part of. With teams like Duke, Kansas, St. John's, and UConn all in one region, it is a wonder who will make it out alive.
Even though they are the No. 1 overall seed, it seems like the Duke Blue Devils could not have drawn a worse region, especially heading into the tournament with two key starters out right now with injuries. This could open the door for any of those other teams, especially the Kansas Jayhawks, to make a run and even upset the Blue Devils.
College basketball expert Seth Greenberg even thinks that Duke would be the first one-seed to fall, due to the injuries they have suffered in the last few weeks. Greenberg believes that if Duke meets either Kansas or St. John's in the tournament, they aren't getting past either team.
"That is the toughest bracket in all of college basketball," Greenberg said on ESPN's First Take. "I'm not sure that Duke gets past either St. John's or Kansas."

Kansas has what it takes to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament even in stacked region
Just like Duke, Kansas is in a very tough region in the NCAA Tournament, but that doesn't mean that the Jayhawks can't make a huge run in this region. With Darryn Peterson healthy for some time now, this team has been able to gel more and more.
Even though Kansas didn't end the regular season with the most stellar record, sometimes getting those bad losses out of the way can be beneficial. The Jayhawks have the lineup to go far, and even take down some top teams like St. John's and Duke, but Bill Self has to be smart with his subbing.
Self has not used his bench a lot this season, but having his best lineup on the floor will be crucial for Kansas to make a run. With Duke dealing with injuries and Kansas looking for some revenge against teams they lost to earlier in the season, the Jayhawks are ready for a great tournament.
