The Christian Braun show was once again on display last night in Denver.

Facing off against the current No. 2 team in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets (56-24) were in need of a big win against the Minnesota Timberwolves (55-25) to stay atop the conference standings and earn the No. 1 seed heading into the NBA Playoffs which start later this month.

Thanks in part to some monster plays from former Kansas Jayhawk Christian Braun, the Nuggets were able to come out with the win 116-107.

With just a 7-point lead with nearly four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Braun took an assist from Nikola Jokić and threw down an and-one over three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.

Less than a minute later – in one of the biggest sequences of the night – Braun threw down an impressive dunk over Gobert once again. He then followed that up with a crowd-roaring alley-oop on the next Nuggets’ offensive possession.

Braun came up huge in the fourth quarter to help give the Nuggets the win. After the game, head coach Michael Malone praised Braun, not only for his dunks, but his impressive defensive performance as well.

On the season, Braun is averaging 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. While those stats may seem minor compared to some of his teammates, last night’s game showed Braun is an important part of this team and will be counted on to help them repeat as NBA champions.
