TCU (11-2) and No. 2 Kansas (12-1) face off in historic Allen Fieldhouse this afternoon. Here is everything you need to know heading into the contest.

Kansas basketball opening Big 12 Conference slate

Both schools are kicking off conference play with today's matchup. Kansas finished its nonconference slate with a 12-1 record, beating teams like UConn, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Meanwhile, TCU sits at 11-2 as they look to make their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

All 14 teams in the league open conference play today. The next 18 games will be within the Big 12, followed by the conference tournament and March Madness.

Bill Self, Jayhawks looking to avenge last year's loss

Head coach Bill Self is looking to even the score with Jamie Dixon after suffering the second-worst home loss in his tenure at KU last year. TCU defeated the Jayhawks 83-60 despite a 30-point outing from Jalen Wilson, making it one of the most disheartening regular season defeats the Hall of Famer has ever suffered.

Kevin McCullar mentioned that Self reminded players from last year's team how it felt after that loss, and to remember that feeling. Now that the team hosts the Horned Frogs again, they'll look to finish with a much more favorable outcome than a year ago.
