Shooting Guard
1. Rylan Griffen
2. Zeke Mayo
3. Riley Kugel
4. Elmarko Jackson
Griffen was the most recent portal addition by the coaching staff and he will almost certainly start in his first year donning crimson and blue. He was a key piece to Alabama’s Final Four run this season, starting all but four games for the Crimson Tide.
Complementing Griffen’s 3-and-D play style off the bench will be Mayo, a Lawrence native who transferred to Kansas from South Dakota State. He averaged 18.8 points for the Jackrabbits in the 2023-24 campaign, winning Summit League Player of the Year. Mayo should be KU’s sixth man and the first player off the second unit.
Kugel is a hybrid guard who can alternate between the two and three. He could share the floor with Jackson for an uber-athletic guard lineup or pair with Harris for a lockdown defensive duo. Jackson also could find minutes in an off-the-ball role if he can develop a more polished jump shot.
