NFL superstar responds to Kansas football quarterback Jalon Daniels’ social media post
Now that Jason Bean has run out of eligibility and he should return fully from the back injury that held him out of most of the 2023 season, Jalon Daniels is expected to be the full-time quarterback for Kansas football next season.
The star Jayhawks quarterback has thrown for 4,297 yards and 31 touchdowns across a 4-year, 25-game collegiate career. He will enter next year as a Heisman Trophy candidate and should be a Big 12 Player of the Year favorite if he stays healthy.
The Big 12 released its full schedule of games and locations for the upcoming season's conference slate. Rather than playing in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium as they have for the past 102 years, the Jayhawks will travel to Arrowhead Stadium during their four league games at home amid the program's $448 million stadium renovation project.
Arrowhead is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, who will meet with the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl next Sunday. It is widely regarded as one of the most electric venues in professional football, and it is about one hour away from the University of Kansas campus.
Once the news was released to the public, the KU football social media page posted Daniels walking on the Arrowhead grass and talking to Jayhawk fans. In the video, he said:
"We said it was a new era, and now we're here. Can't wait to see y'all here, let's pack it out like we pack The Booth. Let's do it!" the star signal-caller said.
Patrick Mahomes, a multi-time MVP winner and one of the greatest players in NFL history, responded to Daniels' message on X.
While playing games away from The Booth will be a new experience for the Jayhawk faithful, fans should also be excited for the resurgence of Kansas football and what is sure to be a fantastic home stadium once construction is complete.
