Kansas basketball hosting elite 5-star forward on official visit this weekend
The 2024 Kansas basketball recruiting class took a hit when Labaron Philon asked out of his letter of intent to play at Alabama. Still, the two-man class of Flory Bidunga and Rakease Passmore was ranked the eighth-best nationally on 247 Sports.
With Hunter Dickinson, KJ Adams, Dajuan Harris, and Zeke Mayo set to graduate after the upcoming campaign, HC Bill Self could prioritize building from the ground up and targeting more high schoolers. This weekend in particular will be extremely important. According to The Kansas City Star, 5-star recruit Bryson Tiller will take an official visit to the KU campus this weekend.
Bryson Tiller taking official visit to Kansas basketball this weekend
Tiller is a name that Jayhawk fans have heard about for quite some time. According to 247 Sports Composite rankings, he is the 11th-best recruit in the Class of 2025 and the fourth-best power forward. A 6-foot-10 forward from Georgia, Tiller is a versatile four-man who can score inside and on the perimeter.
In December 2023, Tiller took his first official visit to KU. However, with his senior year looming and a commitment drawing nearer, this one will likely be more important. The Overtime Elite forward is one of the most coveted players in his graduating year and has taken visits to Indiana and Providence.
Top-3 2025 prospect Darryn Peterson is embarking on a visit to Lawrence this month, and many have speculated that it would be this weekend. Coach Self could have two of the best high school recruits in the country on campus at the same time, so it will be a pivotal week for him and his coaching staff.
Landing one or both of these recruits would immediately give Kansas one of the best high school classes in the country. While a commitment won't be imminent, KU has a chance to push these two players closer to a pledge with a strong visit.
