Shooting Guard

1. Zeke Mayo
2. Riley Kugel
3. Elmarko Jackson
4. Jamari McDowell

The Lawrence native Mayo committed to Kansas after transferring from SDSU. While Kansas has still been linked to other high-scoring guards in the portal, he will likely start for the Jayhawks at the two-guard unless Coach Self lands a star transfer guard.

Kugel has plenty of upside, but it would be difficult to see him start over Mayo. He is not as good of a shooter and has not proved himself to be at the same level as Mayo. Of course, strong performances in practice could change that, but Kugel would come off the second unit right now.

Jackson and McDowell can be interchangeable at the three and four spot, but the latter plays two-guard as his natural position. McDowell is a transfer candidate because there is not much of a spot for him to receive playing time.
