The transfer portal has seen a recent boom in the past few years ever since NIL was introduced. No school is safe from having its best players depart. We even have players leaving programs before they compete in the College Football Playoff.

One thing that Lance Leipold has done tremendously well since arriving in Lawrence in 2021 has been the players' retention rate. Considering he took over a group of players mostly recruited with Les Miles at the helm, he returned a large portion of the talent the former LSU coach brought in. We've only seen Tanaka Scott, Will Huggins, and Gage Keys enter the portal so far, who didn't contribute much in 2023. QB1 Jalon Daniels also shut down the bogus transfer rumors surrounding him last month.

Regardless, there are a few players whose portal decisions that remain unknown. There are Jayhawks who reached All-Big 12 teams, and they are probably getting calls from top-notch Big Ten and SEC programs throughout the country. This is natural and will be the case until Kansas can climb the ranks to be one of those top programs.

In this article, we will predict which players stay and go. We already received the news that cornerback Mello Dotson would return to Kansas football in 2023, so let's begin with the player who stands opposite of him on the gridiron.
