Kansas basketball in the NBA: Former Jayhawks star Christian Braun showcases athleticism with vicious poster dunk

Former Kansas basketball guard Christian Braun surpassed expectations with the Denver Nuggets in his rookie year. He earned the trust of head coach Mike Malone and played a pivotal role off the bench to help them win their first-ever NBA Finals ring. The Blue Valley Northwest graduate is averaging 8.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 26 games this season.

One thing Braun is known for is his tremendous athleticism and willingness to put his body on the line. He certainly showcased that in Denver's 124-101 win over the Brooklyn Nets last night.

After stealing the ball on the defensive end in the second half, he led the fastbreak and had a 2-on-1 opportunity. However, rather than passing it to his teammate or looking to draw a foul, Braun didn't back down from Armoni Brooks — and it ended with one of the nastiest dunks we've seen all year.

The commentator gave tribute to the University of Kansas, and his 'the Jayhawk' call was the perfect lead-up to his poster dunk. He finished the contest with ten points, four rebounds, two blocks, and two assists on 4-for-10 field goal shooting.

Ironically, trailing Braun was his former Kansas basketball teammate, Jalen Wilson. The two played key roles en route to the Jayhawks' first NCAA title in 14 years in 2022. Braun was selected 21st overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, while the Nets took Wilson 51st overall this past April.

There have been plenty of Christian Braun dunks between his time at KU and the Nuggets, but this one might take the top spot. He soared through the air to make a highlight reel play, and the reactions of his teammates and the crowd did not disappoint.
