Another highly touted high school prospect will be on campus this weekend. 5-star Joson Sanon will officially visit Kansas basketball from Dec. 21-23.

Sanon is the No. 10-ranked player in the 2025 class according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Sanon is a 6-foot-5, 188-pound small forward from Saxtons River, Vermont. The schools Sanon is most connected to right now are UConn, Indiana, and Kansas.

The Vermont native took an official visit to Indiana last weekend for their anticipated matchup against the Jayhawks. Indiana has been a common recruiting rival for Kansas ever since Mike Woodson has taken over in Bloomington. Kansas is looking to get revenge on the Hoosiers, who beat them out for Mackenzie Mgbako and 2024 5-star Liam McNeeley. Indiana could potentially sell Sanon on immediate playing time because both Xavier Johnson and Trey Galloway will be exhausting their eligibility after this season.

Sanon is another 2025 prospect that is expected to reclassify into the 2024 class according to recruiting analysts, which would make sense considering the timing of these official visits. Adding Sanon to an already top-10 class could make it one of Bill Self's best recruiting classes to date at Kansas.

Looking at the future roster for Kansas, there will be rotation spots available next year. Nick Timberlake, Kevin McCullar, and Parker Braun will all be gone, which allows some incoming freshmen to compete for a spot in the rotation. Current first-year players like Elmarko Jackson, Johnny Furphy, and Jamari McDowell could also be back.

One of the things that has been a problem for this year's Kansas basketball team is spacing. Adding a guy like Sanon who can fill it up from beyond the arc will help create more space and allow passes to not have to be thrown into as tight of windows as they are right now.
