The road struggles continued as the Jayhawks moved to 1-4 in conference play away from Allen Fieldhouse. The crowd came into play for most of the game as Kansas basketball failed to execute and make free throws throughout the game, particularly down the stretch. It was a game there for the taking, but we couldn’t make one more play to get it done.

KU took the lead with 1:49 left in regulation on a Kevin McCullar layup. K-State answered with a lucky bounce as Hunter Dickinson tipped the ball in for KSU with 1:24 left to tie the game. Kev turned the ball over on our next possession and KSU scored to go up two. A nice pick and roll led to a KJ Adams finish with 16 seconds left and a defensive stop sent the game into overtime.

Tylor Perry carried KSU in overtime with seven points, giving them the early advantage. Down four with under a minute to go, Dajuan drove and got fouled, calmly making both free throws. After a stop, Kevin got the rebound and was fouled. He missed the front end on the first of the 1-and-1, which could have tied the game with 22 seconds remaining. Arthur Kaluma calmly knocked down two free throws and KSU won their Super Bowl 75-70 in overtime.

Tier 1: Big Jays

1. Dajuan Harris

Juan had a solid night and did a good job attacking the basket to score when the opportunity arose with many of his teammates struggling from the field. He made several key plays down the stretch at the end of regulation and in overtime. Outside of a couple of careless turnovers he played really solid on the road. Juan finished with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting, eight assists, two rebounds, two steals, one block, and three turnovers.

2. Hunter Dickinson

Hunter looked gassed many times throughout the game. He had several shots rim in and out and had a big error in the final minutes of regulation, going for a rebound and accidentally tipping it into the KSU basket to tie the game. Hunter did lead the Jayhawks in scoring and rebounding. Dickinson led the Jayhawks with 21 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block, and one turnover.
