3. Depth, depth, and depth

Kansas picked up its first portal commitment of the offseason yesterday, bringing in Florida transfer Riley Kugel. He is a high-upside athletic guard who could bud into a special player during his time at KU. While he will serve as the sixth man or one of the first pieces off the bench, the Jayhawks should still target more depth for next season.

Of course, the amount of depth Bill Self decides to go after depends on which players leave or stay at KU for the 2024-25 season. However, fans learned this year that too much depth does not exist after seeing the Arterio Morris fiasco go down and having two freshmen leave the program months before Late Night.

Flory Bidunga will be terrific off the bench if Dickinson comes back. Ideally, bench pieces like Jackson and Jamari McDowell return and they can continue to improve after rough freshman years. If one or both of them transfer out, there is a lot of work to be done in the transfer portal.
