5. G Dante Maddox Jr. - Toledo

2023-24 Statistics: 32 G, 15.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.8 APG, 1.4 SPG, 43.8% FG, 2.3 3PM, 40.2% 3PT

Maddox has impressive statistics and has enhanced his game since transferring from Cal State Fullerton. Although he is an undersized two-guard at 6-foot-2, he finishes strong at the rim and does most of his damage on the perimeter. He excels in the catch-and-shoot game but can also create his own shot.

His interest in KU was not deemed high, but Maddox included the Jayhawks in his final list today. That shows that the coaching staff likes his game and is considering coming to Lawrence. He plays an entirely different position from Kugel, so he would not interfere with the recent commitment.

There are a lot of things to like about his game. He is a very solid talent, but he likely would come off the bench and serve as a fallback option if Coach Self can't land any of the other guards ahead of him on the list.
