G/F Michael Ajayi - Pepperdine

2023-24 Statistics: 33 G, 17.2 PPG, 9.9 RPG, 1.9 APG, 46.7% FG, 1.2 3PM, 47.0% 3PT

The JUCO product broke out in a huge way in his first year of Division I hoops. He led Pepperdine in points and rebounds and was very efficient while doing so. His 71% effective field goal percentage on catch-and-shoot jumpers rank in the 98th percentile in NCAA hoops.

Kansas reached out to the uber-talented guard as soon as he entered the portal. He fills several needs for Bill Self, including 3-point shooting. When he is on the floor, Ajayi serves as a ball handler who excels at rebounding and can do a multitude of good things offensively.

Unfortunately, it seems as though Gonzaga has the upper hand early on in his recruitment. He is set to take a visit to Spokane within the next week. But as we have learned with the transfer portal, every situation is fluid. More importantly, any school can swoop in with a hefty NIL check. Keep an eye on Ajayi if his visit with Gonzaga doesn't go as planned.
