2. Dajuan Harris has someone to take the load off of him

Regardless of your opinion on Harris, it's undeniable that he excels at one thing on the offensive end — creating shots for his teammates. He is one of the best point guards in the country at facilitating and finding the open player. But when asked to do more than he is capable of, Harris could become a liability since scoring is not his strong suit.

Mayo arriving at KU will finally allow Harris to take a step back during some possessions. He is able to create shots without the help of his teammates, plays well off the ball, and is also a very good playmaker. That is something the Jayhawks direly missed in starting two-guards Nick Timberlake and Elmarko Jackson.

Harris will still be the quarterback of the offense, running plays and directing traffic in the half-court. However, if Mayo plays like he did at South Dakota State, Harris is going to have an extremely improved season as a super senior.
