1. Kansas finally has a guard who can create his own shot

This year, Kansas basketball fans had to constantly endure sluggish and unhurried offensive possessions. There were no Jayhawk guards who could create their own shot. Enter Zeke Mayo.

He is most effective as an off-the-dribble pull-up shooter from mid-range or beyond the arc. The Jayhawks have not had someone who can create space for themselves and get the shot they want since Remy Martin. Finding a versatile guard needed to be on the top of Coach Self's wish list this offseason.

When KU is struggling to find an open man while the shot clock dwindles, there is finally someone who can make something out of nothing. Mayo is that player, and there could be more space-creating floor spacers on the way.
