The Kansas basketball program has quickly revamped its roster for the upcoming season, adding highly touted transfer guards Riley Kugel and Zeke Mayo in the past few days. Bill Self has wasted no time filling the voids that graduating players Kevin McCullar and Nick Timberlake are departing.

In just a few days, the Jayhawks have brought in two of the best players in the portal and completely changed the outlook for next year. Mayo, a Lawrence native, won Summit League Player of the Year in 2023-24 and could start next year at the two-guard spot.

Here are 3 reasons why the Kansas Jayhawks will be championship contenders after adding Zeke Mayo.
