New angle of Bill Self's ejection vs. Arizona State proves how bogus it was

The first technical might have been warranted, but the second one that resulted in an ejection certainly wasn't.

Kansas head coach Bill Self is not one to get thrown out of games very often. Actually, Self has only been ejected from a game at Kansas once in career before Tuesday night. That number can now be doubled as Self was thrown out of the game vs. Arizona State in the first half, and it was completely ridiculous.

The first technical foul was issued to Self after an offensive foul call on Darryn Peterson that the Kansas head coach certainly didn't agree with. Self was so angry by the call, he walked halfway across the court to confront the ref who made it.

That resulted in the first technical, and Self was told he needed to return to the coaches' box. A few seconds past and Self was making his way back slowly while still talking to another official when the first one came over again and issued a second technical foul to Self, resulting in his ejection.

A new angle of the calls has come out, and it is clear that Self was making his way to the box, but he was talking with one of the other officials as well as some of his coaches, and was given very little time to actually get back to the box.

This new angle shows that the second call was completely bogus and uncalled for by the first official. It ended with Self having to go back to the locker room very early in the game. Even minutes later, the Kansas bench received a technical foul, resulting in the coaching staff getting heated again.

It was clear that this reffing crew had a short fuse and wasn't taking anything from the coaches, but it was ridiculous how quickly Self was used on the second call before he really had any time to get back in the box.

Now, no one knows what was said by Self as he was heading back to the box, and that could have been the reason for the second call, but the video evidence as of now shows it was a bogus call.
