It has been a season of history for Kansas baseball, and it looks like this team isn't planning to end its run anytime soon. Even though the Lawrence regional saw its ups and downs for the Jayhawks at times, the Kansas faithful were out in full force with record-breaking attendance.
Kansas made even more history by not only hosting its first-ever regional in Lawrence but winning it all and punching its ticket to the Jayhawks' first-ever Super Regional in program history. This weekend, the stars were out with head basketball coach Bill Self in attendance for the games, as well as former Kansas running back Devin Neal.
There is one former Kansas basketball star who was making sure the Jayhawks knew he saw what the baseball team is doing. Melvin Council Jr., who only spent one season at Kansas on the hardwood, put a video on his Instagram story, literally screaming for the Kansas baseball team.
Council even pulled out his 'dawg' chant, making sure the baseball team knows he is continuing to cheer for them in their historic run.

Kansas baseball continues history with first ever Super Regional appearance
After receiving the No. 15 seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament, Kansas felt they had even been a bit disrespected after winning the Big 12 Championship. The Jayhawks got to host a regional for the first time in program history and got through without a loss.
That doesn't mean every game was an easy blowout; Kansas had to work hard to get the win against Arkansas in the Regional Championship. Now the Jayhawks will look forward to a Super Regional, where they could host, depending on the outcome of Georgia Tech and Oklahoma.
Could Kansas host a Super Regional next round?
The short answer is yes, Kansas does have a shot to host its first-ever Super Regional, but it would need a little help from former Big 12 rival Oklahoma.
Oklahoma and No. 2-seed Georgia Tech are set to play in a winner-take-all game Monday afternoon to see who will become Regional Champions and punch their ticket to the next round. If Georgia Tech comes out on top, the Jayhawks would have to pack their bags and head to Atlanta to take on the Yellow Jackets.
If the Sooners come out on top, Kansas would get to host the Super Regional, best-of-three series in Hoglund Ballpark. It would be another bit of history to add to this season as the Jayhawks would do something no Kansas team has done before them.
Kansas is just two wins away from heading to the College World Series as well, and getting to potentially host a Super Regional would be huge. The Jayhawks play their best baseball at home in front of the Kansas faithful. It would be interesting to see Kansas take on the former Big 12 foe Oklahoma, but even if the Jayhawks have to face Georgia Tech, top seeds have fallen a lot this postseason.
The Jayhawks are ready for the next round and only await their opponent, which will be decided later today.
