Since NIL and transfers became an integral part of the collegiate universe, the Kansas Jayhawks have been at the forefront of both incomings and outgoings. Look at just last year, Kansas lost AJ Storr to Ole Miss, Rylan Griffen and Zach Clemence to Texas A&M, David Coit Jr., and Rakease Passmore to Maryland. While also bringing in Jayden Dawson, Tre White, and Melvin Council Jr., from Loyola-Chicago, Illinois, and St. Bonaventure.

Funnily enough, Council and White have debatably been Kansas’ best players for the 12-5 Kansas Jayhawks this season, as the pair have averaged 15.4 points and 13.6 points, respectively, with an average of 11.6 rebounds per game and 7.0 assists combined.

Minutes ago, a recent ruling from the NCAA has changed the dates for the upcoming transfer portal.

According to the report, the women’s basketball portal window will open on April 6 and run through April 20. While the Men’s basketball will have its transfer portal period from April 7 through April 21.

Last season, the portal ran through the final days of the season, leading to the few teams that were involved to both lead their current teams through the tournament’s final stages, while also keeping an eye on retaining their roster and attempting to bring in players for next year's team. A cluster that is currently affecting college football this season.

Players are not the only ones affected. According to On3, “When a coaching change occurs, a 15-day window will open five days after a new coach is hired or publicly announced, the NCAA said. If a coach is not announced within 30 days of the current coach’s departure, and if the 31st day is after the national championship game, a 15-day window will then open. That additional window is only available after the portal window opens through Jan. 2.”
