The Kansas football team takes to the road for to play Utah Saturday. It is the first true road game of the season (the Arizona State game was played at a neutral site in London). KU is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Big 12. Utah is 4-0 overall, and 1-0 in conference play. The Utes are ranked 12th in the latest AP poll.
The most pleasant surprise about this Kansas team has been their defense. They rank first in the Big 12, allowing just 244.8 yards per game. That places them eighth nationally. Yes, KU has played two games against subpar competition, but they've also played Missouri and Arizona State.

Kansas played one of the best games in program history last week in a 55-0 blowout against Middle Tennessee. The defense was obviously good, pitching a shutout, but the offense set a record, piling up 706 total yards of offense. Things won't be that easy against a stout Utah squad, and the Jayhawks will need to play their best to pull off an upset.

Kansas must protect the ball against Utah. The Jayhawks have seven turnovers on the season while only forcing three. KU doesn't have any interceptions so far this year. While the defense has been terrific, it does need to gain some extra possessions for the offense.
Quarterback Isaiah Marshall will be starting his fifth game, and he needs to have the best outing of his career. He needs to be more accurate down the field. He has struggled with overthrowing his receivers, especially early in games. If he protects the ball and has a good game, KU will have a chance for an upset.
