The Kansas basketball team dropped to 10-4 on the season, 0-1 in the Big 12, after dropping a closely contested game at UCF on Saturday. The Jayhawks lost 81-75.
Darryn Peterson played and scored 23 first-half points, added three more in a brief second-half stint, but, as usual, disappeared for the rest of the game, calmly watching his teammates scratch and fight without him.
Melvin Council was a dawg in the second half. He was in foul trouble most of the first half and did not score. After the intermission, he dropped 20, keeping the Jayhawks in the game.
KU returns home and hopes to draw even in conference play with a win over TCU (11-3, 1-0).
