The Kansas basketball team's eight-game winning streak ended abruptly when the Jayhawks struggled on the road against Iowa State. The Jayhawks played poorly in most aspects of the game.

KU didn't shoot well from anywhere but the free throw line, where they made 80 percent of their attempts. They connected on just 37 percent of their shots from the field, making only 19. Disturbingly, they recorded only seven assists in the game and committed 13 turnovers.

Melvin Council Jr. led the team in scoring against the Cyclones with 15. Flory Bidunga added 11, and Darryn Peterson pitched in a career-low 10. The Jayhawks will need more from just about everyone to win the next time out.

The Jayhawks will try to bounce back on Wednesday against Oklahoma State, who scored 90 points in a two-point loss on Saturday to TCU. Kansas has struggled at Oklahoma State in the past, but they need to respond to their poor performance Saturday and find a way to win another game on the road. Another loss will make it nearly impossible to contend for another Big 12 title.
