Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals have become extremely important to college programs and players, and no event is bigger right now in generating this income than the Players ERA Festival. The Kansas basketball team will participate in the tournament for the first time and face Notre Dame in the first round.
The biggest question for the Jayhawks is whether Darryn Peterson will be able to participate. If he can, will he be able to play in three games over three days? For someone who has missed the last three outings with a hamstring injury, it seems unlikely Peterson will play at full throttle in all three of these games.
Update: Peterso has been ruled out for the Players Era Festival
Kansas and Notre Dame haven’t played since 1988 and have met only 11 times. Maybe the reason they don’t play anymore is because the Fighting Irish have won nine of those matchups. That is a rare one-sided record that’s not in Kansas’s favor.
