Here we are again. The annual ritual of wondering if the Kansas football team can end its brutal losing streak to the Kansas State Wildcats. The streak is currently sitting at 17, and the Jayhawks would love to put an end to that this week.
In reality, there have been few years when beating K-State hardly seemed possible. In recent seasons, under head coach Lance Leipold, hope has been rekindled only to be dashed. In 2023 and 2024, KU came close, losing those two games by six combined points.
Kansas is 2-3, and KSU is 3-2. Both teams, however, are 0-2 in the Big 12. This may be the best opportunity the Jayhawks have had for a while to break this streak. To get it done, KU will have to clean up all the sloppy, costly miscues that have haunted them in their three losses.
