The Kansas basketball team is riding an eight-game winning streak that was extended Monday when the Jayhawks beat the top-ranked, previously undefeated Arizona Wildcats in the Phog. It will be challenging to make it nine games when they go into a hostile environment at Iowa State.
The Cyclones dropped a road game Tuesday at TCU, but they are undefeated at home. Iowa State would like nothing better than to knock the high-flying Jayhawks off their hot streak.
As is the case for every KU game this season, it is unknown whether Darryn Peterson will play, but KU has proved they can win without him. They may actually be a better team without him. Melvin Council Jr., Tre White, and Flory Bidunga are the true leaders of this team, and they'll be ready to play, with or without Peterson.
Both Kansas (9) and Iowa State (5) are top-10 teams in this week's AP poll, and both are still contenders for a conference championship. The crowd will be loud, and it should be a great college basketball game.
