Coming in as the nation’s 72nd-best player in the class of 2025, true freshman Kohl Rosario has an all-star outlook. Now, has he been perfect? Of course not, and his lows do come with some streaky shooting streaks, but when he finds his confidence in front of the rim, he looks a lot more developed than many freshmen will.
Rosario has made six starts in his early career, and his overall stats across all 13 games mean he averages 5.5 points per game, 1.9 rebounds, .6 assists, on 43.5% field goal rate, which includes 27.7% from beyond the arc.
Rosario’s first four games were as good as you realistically could have asked for. Rosario notched six, seven,16, and six points as the Jayhawks launched to a 3-1 start. Rosario started his career with 35 points in 89 minutes.
However, his next eight games saw a slump ensue which Rosario scored 23 points in 112 minutes, a typical wall freshman can hit; however, on the court, his confidence did look slightly shaken. That was until a big 13 points against Davidson resettled Rosario in Kansas’ 90-61 win.
The Hickory, North Carolina, native has an innate ability to glide to the rim, which is on full display when he is feeling himself.
Rosario’s 13-47 three-point mark clearly does leave room for improvement, but by no means are they marks you would expect. Yet if he can find that shot consistently to a point where he can force defenders to the three-point line before pushing past them into the paint, then another layer of his raw game can begin to develop.
