Redshirt freshman Bryson Tiller has shown, despite this being his first year on the hardwood for Kansas, how much potential a player of his ilk may have for a Kansas team that is looking to compete for a deep run into March.

Tiller’s performances are never too loud on the court. As a matter of fact, Tiller has honestly gone underrated. Through his 13 games so far this season, Tiller has averaged nine points, 5.8 rebounds, .5 assists, on a 46.8% field goal rate.

Tiller has reached double-digits in seven games this season, with his season-high being 17 in the Jayhawks’ 71-61 win against Notre Dame during the second game of Kansas’ eventual third-place finish in the Players Era Championship.

Yes, Tiller has had an occasional off night. There have been performances that have seen Tiller finish with just two or four points, but his consistent scoring rates more often than not mean that he is on the right side of the stat book.

Three times this season, Tiller has gone back-to-back games with double-digit points, including his previous two. 11 points in a 73-49 win against Towson, and a further 11 points in Kansas’ most recent 90-61 win over the Davidson Wildcats

The task, make it three in a row, something Tiller has not been able to do in his early career so far.

His latest chance to do so will come in Kansas’ first Big 12 game of the season, a January 3rd matchup against the UCF Golden Knights. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT with streaming available on Peacock.
