While the fall sports in Lawrence begin to wind down, the Jayhawks are looking to make some noise in conference and postseason play. Basketball is officially underway for both men's and women's teams, while football winds down the season, hoping to earn bowl eligibility.

It is a busy time for Kansas athletics with the transition from fall sports to winter, but with a lot still left to play for, the Jayhawks have a lot to cheer for. With that said, let's take a look around at all that is happening in Lawrence for a quick news update.

Even if it is for a short amount of time, Trey Kaufman-Renn feels at home in Lawrence

He came in late, but Trey Kaufman-Renn already feels at home with the Kansas Jayhawks, but who knows how long this ride will last with his eligibility still up in the air. Kaufman-Renn was not a starter for the Jayhawks in the season opener, but head coach Bill Self does not expect that to be the norm going forward.

Kaufman-Renn took to social media after the season opener and reflected on the opportunity to play with the Jayhawks. He also gave a great shout-out to The Phog, which will always make the fans happy.

"Thank you, Jayhawk Nation, for making me feel at home from day one," Kaufman-Renn said on social media. "The support has been unreal, and getting to experience that atmosphere at Allen Fieldhouse was something special."

Whether Kaufman-Renn is around for a few games or the entire season, Self is going to get whatever he can out of the outstanding center. Kansas needed the height after the transfer of Flory Bidunga, and Kaufman-Renn gives that and more to Kansas.

Kansas volleyball is on fire with the regular season winding down

It feels like no one is hotter than the Jayhawks in Big 12 volleyball right now. Kansas is currently riding a five-game win streak that includes a win over No. 13 TCU and two wins over No. 24 Baylor. The latest win over Baylor came in dominant fashion, with the Jayhawks sweeping the Bears on their own home court.

The Jayhawks continue to be a force at the net with 48 kills and a .379 hitting percentage, with Grace Nelson leading the way with 17 kills and a .484 hitting percentage. Kansas has also been pretty clean from the service line, with six aces against the Bears and only eight service errors compared to Baylor's 10.

The win over Baylor is huge when it comes to the Big 12 standings, as the Jayhawks currently sit second behind only BYU, which is undefeated in conference play. Kansas is 175 overall this season and 10-2 in Big 12 play, putting them in a great spot with the conference tournament coming up and the NCAA Tournament looming soon after.

Kansas women's soccer gains major momentum heading into the Big 12 Tournament

The Big 12 Women's Soccer Tournament is upon us, and the Kansas Jayhawks could not have had a bigger win at the right time. No. 18 Kansas took down No. 7 Texas Tech 3-2 in what was the final home game of the season, keeping the Jayhawks undefeated on their home turf this season.

It was a tight match until Kansas took the lead in the 78th minute with a goal from Kate Langfelder to propel Kansas over the Red Raiders. Even with Texas Tech putting a lot of pressure on the Jayhawks in the late minutes of the game, Kansas stood strong to secure the win and gain a lot of momentum heading into the Big 12 Tournament.

With the win, the Jayhawks secure the No. 5 seed in the tournament, set to play the No. 4 seed, Colorado, on Monday, November 9, at 11:30 a.m. CT in Mansfield, Texas. Fans can watch the game via ESPN+ with a subscription.
