Many fans believed that Kansas football would have at least four players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, with up to six realistic chances of being taken. However, rounds continued to pass on Day 3, and no Jayhawks heard their names called until the late 100s.
Regardless, two KU alumni had their lifelong dreams come true on Saturday. The duo made school history, as the Jayhawks boast multiple selections in consecutive drafts for the first time in nearly 30 years.
RB Devin Neal: No. 184 to New Orleans Saints (6th round)
KU's all-time leading rusher and the best running back in program history was the first Jayhawk taken. He is a powerful, elusive runner who was the Jayhawks' workhorse the past few seasons. Neal joins New Orleans' backfield along with superstar Alvin Kamara, and he could very well succeed him once his career comes to a close.
OG Bryce Cabeldue: No. 192 to Seattle Seahawks (6th round)
Cabeldue was the second and final Jayhawk taken in the draft. The four-year starter on KU's offensive line will head to Seattle, where he could fight for a starting spot as early as next year. Cabeldue was considered an afterthought until a strong Big 12 Pro Day raised many scouts' eyebrows. He became the second Kansas offensive lineman selected in the draft in as many years following Dominick Puni last draft.
Which Jayhawks were snubbed?
Cornerback Cobee Bryant and offensive lineman Logan Brown were deemed sure-fire picks by most mock drafts, but they resorted to undrafted free agent deals after being snubbed.
