The Kansas football team might have ended its season on a sour note, but head coach Lance Leipold wasted no time attacking the transfer portal. He has assembled one of the best portal classes in the country to date, and the coaching staff continues to stay in contact with high-profile transfers.

A new player on KU's radar could make a massive difference for the Jayhawks next season. According to A&P Sports Agency, Kansas has reached out to UNLV transfer Fisher Camac. One of the best defensive linemen on the market, landing Camac could be Leipold's best offseason acquisition yet.

Coming out of high school, Camac was not highly regarded by most recruiting sites. After redshirting his freshman season with the Rebels, he appeared in eight games and played sparingly in 2023. However, the Arizona native broke out in a huge way in UNLV's incredible 11-3 bowl-winning season this year.

In 14 contests, Camac led the team with 7.5 sacks. He also finished the campaign with 46 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and five pass deflections. The Mountain West Conference awarded him with an honorable mention on the All-MW team.

Other schools involved in his recruitment include Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, Utah, UCLA, Pittsburgh, and more. Considering he is originally from the West Coast, he might want to stay closer to home. However, Kansas still needs a standout edge rusher to generate pressure next season.

Standing at 6-foot-7, 250 pounds, Camac is a physical specimen who could wreak havoc on Big 12 offensive lines. With two years remaining and a strong resume to his name, there is no doubt that Kansas will pursue him heavily if he is interested. We will keep everyone informed about his recruiting status moving forward.
