Kansas basketball has yet to receive a commitment from a high schooler in the Class of 2025, but head coach Bill Self and his assistants have been steadily recruiting a handful of high-profile prospects in the offseason. While Darryn Peterson has been the talk of the town, the Jayhawks remain in the mix for other players such as Eric Reibe.

The German native recently released his final five list of schools. It was no surprise that KU was one of them. He is also considering Creighton, Indiana, UConn, and Oregon. 247 Sports' No. 27 player in the Class of 2025 took an official visit to Lawrence toward the end of August and has stayed in close contact with the coaching staff.

4-star recruit Eric Reibe includes Kansas basketball in final list

"Kansas‘s play style fits me a lot, especially after watching [Hunter] Dickinson, who’s leaving after this year. So there’s an immediate opportunity for me to step in and fill in that role. A lot of opportunities for minutes, coach [Bill] Self‘s winning history is very impressive as well."

An incoming senior at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, Reibe is a 7-0, 235-pound center with tremendous length. His long wingspan allows him to grab rebounds and block shots at a high level. His offensive game is still raw, so he is a defensive-oriented player.

He most recently competed on Germany's national team in the U18 European Championship. He posted averages of 3.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game in the tournament.

Kansas will be short of big men after two-time All-American Hunter Dickinson exercises his final year of eligibility. The program has high hopes for incoming freshman Flory Bidunga, but it will need some depth at the center position. Reibe is a budding talent who would provide solid interior defense early in his collegiate career.

After completing his final official visit to Oregon over the weekend, a decision date could be coming soon for the German center. Creighton is currently in the lead, and they have a crystal ball pick in on 247 Sports, but it would not be surprising if Coach Self and the Jayhawks started pursuing Reibe heavily as his commitment approaches.
