The Kansas basketball team has built as strong a resume as any team in the country, maintaining its preseason No. 1 ranking with wins over North Carolina, Duke, and Michigan State. Bill Self and the Jayhawks sit at 6-0 with one game remaining in the month of November.
Assuming KU takes care of business against Furman on Saturday, it will be one of the few undefeated teams left nationally. Twenty-six teams in Division I basketball have yet to lose a game, Kansas being one of them.
Kansas basketball remains undefeated despite challenging schedule
It has been a hectic week in college basketball, with reigning champion UConn losing all three of its meetings in the Maui Invitational. The No. 2-ranked team in the country could drop out of the AP Top 25 following its disastrous week. Meanwhile, No. 3 Gonzaga picked up its first defeat vs. West Virginia, and Auburn narrowly took down No. 5 Iowa State.
The only teams without a loss in the recent poll are Auburn, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Marquette, Kentucky, Florida, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. The Rebels are currently losing to BYU at halftime, and some of the other schools have more games this week.
Needless to say, the Jayhawks will definitely carry the top ranking for yet another week as they go to Creighton.
